Every good story needs company, and reading is always better with fellow travelers. That's why we're thrilled to announce our newest partnership: Literary 1984, a small, student-run book club based in the Triangle area of North Carolina.
Literary 1984 reads big books, small books, strange books, and everything in between — from Frantz Fanon's The Wretched of the Earth (their current read) to gothic staples close to our own hearts, like Dracula and Carmilla. Beyond discussion, members write their own stories, poems, and essays through the club's Writing Circle, and share reviews and literary analysis right on their site.
Curious about the name? It's a nod to Orwell — half warning, half wink at a world where surveillance and censorship somehow keep feeling less like fiction. It's the kind of dry, book-nerd humor we can get behind.
